The employee will walk around the building, and in some cases, they will need to enter the building to check the rear side. Otherwise, you will not notice much of the work, and you do not need to stay at home.
25-2 | No water due to burst pipe
There is currently no water due to a burst pipe. Work is underway and the pipe is expected to be repaired later today.
20-2 | Update on internet and TV recovery following the Hoogeveldt fire
Internet repair
The work is progressing well! 50% of the connections have now been temporarily repaired. The schedule for further repairs is as follows:
Today: Corridors 34, 36, 38 and 32
Tomorrow: Corridors 40, 42, 44, 46, 48 and 50
Monday: Possible overrun
Because after the weekend only a few rooms will still be without internet, we are asking residents to show solidarity and share their wifi temporarily if possible.
Compensation
Anyone who has been affected by the disruption and residents who share their Wi-Fi will receive one month of free internet. This will be processed automatically, so you don't need to do anything.
Personal updates
Residents whose internet has been restored will receive an email. Is it still not working? Please let us know!
Ziggo TV outage
Damaged main cables in the basement have probably caused a lack of Ziggo TV signal in corridors 2 to 32. Ziggo is bringing in a contractor to repair this. As soon as we know more, we will let you know!
Thank you for your patience and understanding!
February 13 | Update regarding the Hoogeveldt fire
Hallways 22 to 50: Starting tomorrow, the internet will be operational again. However, it will take up to a week for everyone to be reconnected. Additionally, the planned work on the emergency lighting will be postponed by two weeks to prioritize restoring the internet sooner.
13-2 | Update regarding the Hoogeveldt fire
Corridors 6 to 50: Gas is working again
The gas has been reconnected and should be working again. There may be some air in the pipes, which can make it seem like it’s not working. However, once the air is out, it should function properly. The building managers will check this today.
If it still doesn’t work for you, please contact the building managers.
12-2 | Update regarding the fire at Hoogeveldt
The cause of the fire is still unclear, but the fire department is currently conducting an investigation. Repair work has already begun, but it is not yet clear when everything will be fully restored. Below is an overview of the potential consequences:
For everyone: Bicycle parking & damaged bicycles
Due to the fire and firefighting efforts, bicycles at Hoogeveldt may have been damaged or relocated. Temporary bike racks will be placed in front of entrance 1-19 (please note: they are not lockable). If your bicycle is missing or damaged, please contact the building manager for further information or reach out to your own home insurance provider. The bike repair shop is temporarily closed.
For everyone: Have you seen anything suspicious?
If you noticed anything suspicious that could help determine what happened, please report it to the police. You can do so by calling 0900 8844 or filling out this form.
Hallways 6 to 50: No gas for cooking
Fortunately, there will be hot water and heating this evening. We are working hard to resolve the issue, but it is unlikely to be fixed today. We will keep you updated on the progress.
Hallways 2 to 50: No hot water and heating on the morning of February 13 (7:30 - 10:30 AM)
Tomorrow morning, a valve needs to be replaced due to the fire damage. As a result, you will temporarily have no hot water or heating between 7:30 AM and 10:30 AM. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Hallways 22 to 50: No Internet
Due to fire damage to the cables, there is currently no internet in these hallways. If you are affected, please report it via info@sshn.nl with the subject line "No Internet", including your name and room number. This will help us create an overview and look for an emergency solution. Work is being done on both a temporary (quick) solution and a permanent fix. Unfortunately, we cannot yet say how long this will take, but we will keep you informed of any updates.
We are very pleased with the way the fire department and all of you responded, and we appreciate your patience and calm attitude. As soon as we have more clarity on the situation and the repair work, we will provide further updates. We will continue to keep you informed as new information becomes available.
