The car park on Kroonstraat has containers for disposing of residual waste and waste paper.

Residual waste

Do you live with eight people in a corridor?
You may deposit any bag in the residual waste container at your complex, which you open with a special waste card.

Do you live in an independent flat or coupled room?
Then you use a waste card and pay for each time you use the container at your complex. You do not need any special waste bags: you can deposit any bag. You will be billed once a year.

Plastic waste
Plastic waste is collected weekly. Full bags should be put on the street the night before it is collected. Plastic waste must be disposed of in a special orange bag. You can buy these bags at a Nijmegen supermarket.

Organic waste
Want to separate Vegetable, Fruit and Garden Waste (VGF)? You can. Then request a green bucket yourself from SSH& via info@sshn.nl. On the pavement (on municipal land) there are concrete cocoons in which you can empty your bucket.

Waste paper
Please throw waste paper in the waste paper container. This container is located in a closed waste pen, between the old building and the new building (near the tower). The container is emptied monthly.

Waste calendar Dar
The waste calendar tells you when the Dar will collect your waste.

Do not place waste next to the containers
The municipality regularly checks for rubbish next to the containers. Can they trace the offender? Then you will be fined.

Do not place cars in front of the containers. This way it is always possible to empty the containers. Also, do not put rubbish next to the container when it is full.

Don't put waste out too early or too late
Regularly, the municipality checks whether there is rubbish, before or after the collection time, outside. Can they trace the culprit? Then you will be fined.

No waste pass present?
You can apply for these yourself at the Dar.

Always get rid of your bulky waste!
Behind the new building area (near the ruins), you will find a central enclosed collection point for all bulky waste. Bulky waste is waste that does not fit in the bin, such as old sofas and fridges, or electrical appliances, for example. You open this area with your room key. This way, you can dispose of your bulky waste 24/7 and we prevent bulky waste from being placed in corridors, entrances or near the containers. Safety first! The area itself indicates where you can put bulky waste and where you can put electrical appliances and metals.

Is your laminate flooring going in the junkyard?
If so, make sure you bundle all the boards equally well. This makes it a lot easier for us to dispose of!
