Hopefully it will never happen, but in the event of a fire, it is important to know what measures you can take.

Smoke detectors
Smoke detectors are located in the corridors. This is also the case in most rooms. Sometimes the complex has a different kind of fire alarm system.

Is someone smoking inside or is there smoke during cooking?
Then the smoke detector may go off. You reset it yourself by opening windows and doors to dilute the smoke. After a while, the smoke detector switches itself off again.

The smoke detector:

  • is connected to mains power and fitted with a 9V block battery. The smoke detector signals itself with a frequent signal when the battery is running low. You then have to replace it yourself.
  • works automatically and operates on 230V (complex Nestor)

Never cover up smoke detectors. They are there for your safety.

Fire reels
There are fire reels in every corridor. You use these in case of fire.

Fire escape
Our complexes and properties often have a fire escape exit on one side of the complex or property. You can usually reach this fire escape through a window on the landing.

Escape routes free of belongings
By order of the fire brigade, it is not allowed to place bicycles, tables, benches, washing racks, etc. in the main entrance, corridors and (escape) stairwells. For safety reasons, we remove these items without warning. Below you can see what we mean by an empty corridor!
