General waste
You can dispose of your general waste in the underground containers. You can open them with a Dar pass. You don't have one yet? Then ask for one from Dar. You pay each time you deposit waste in the container. You will receive a final bill for this once a year.

Plastic waste and wastepaper
There is a collection point for your plastic waste and wastepaper at the back of the bicycle storage, near the Luna building. Plastic waste must be disposed of in the special orange Dar bags. These bags can be purchased in Nijmegen's supermarkets.

Organic waste
Would you like to separate your organic waste? That's possible. You can ask for a green pail from Dar. You will find a number of organic waste containers in the neighbourhood, in which you can empty your pails.

Always possible to dispose of your bulky waste!
At the back of the Luna building, near the bicycle storage, you will find a centrally locked collection point for all bulky waste. Bulky waste is waste that does not fit in the waste container, such as old sofas and fridges, or electrical appliances. You can open this room with your room key. You can dispose of your bulky waste 24/7. This prevents bulky waste from being deposited in corridors, entrances or near the containers. Safety first!

The site clearly indicates where you can place bulky waste and where you can place electrical appliances and metals. So please make sure you separate your bulky waste properly.

Are you getting rid of your laminate flooring?
If so, please make sure you bundle up all the pieces. This makes it a lot easier for us to dispose of them. Thanks!

Waste calendar
Dar’s waste calendar shows on what days each type of waste is collected.

Do not set out waste too early or too late
The municipality regularly checks whether waste is dumped before or after the pickup time. If they can trace the culprit, a fine will be sent out. Do not place waste next to the container if it is full, rather look for another one.
