Rent benefit
If you rent a room with shared facilities, it is not possible to apply for rent benefit.
Do you rent independent accommodation? Then you may be eligible for rent benefit. The right to rent benefit depends on a number of conditions. For example, the amount of your calculated rent, your income and your assets determine whether you are entitled to rent benefit.
What amounts do you need to apply for rent benefit?
- Base rent (deduct any temporary discount from the base rent)
Service charges:
- Energy fee of common areas ('Electricity general ' in your contract)
- Cleaning fee
- Caretaker fee
To apply for rent benefit you can only fill out a maximum of € 12,- for each one of these service fees. For example, if your cleaning fee is € 13,58, you can only claim a maximum of € 12,-. Other costs do not apply.
