To maintain the technical condition of the apartments, you are not allowed to change any of the technical systems or architectural layout of your apartment.

Customise room
Want to customise your room to your own taste? This is allowed, but you must follow a few rules:

Drilling / Nailing
The walls and ceiling contain many ducts. To avoid damaging these, you are not permitted to drill or nail into these surfaces. Do not drill or nail into windows, frames or other wooden finishes.

Painting
You can paint the walls and ceiling of your room in any colour you like. It is important to choose a good latex paint (smudge-proof). Make sure you do not damage the fibreglass wallpaper. You will need to change the colours of the walls/ceilings back to white if the new resident does not want the walls the colour you have painted them. Do not paint window frames, skirting boards, or doors.

Flooring
Your apartment has linoleum flooring. The apartment does not come with any carpeting or rugs. You can use any carpeting or rugs that are already present. Are you going to put down your own flooring? If so, remember that flooring has to be removed again once you leave the room for good. There should not be any glue or foam residue stuck to the floor. When you cancel your rental, you can also indicate that you have flooring available, so that the new resident can contact you if they would like you to leave it behind. Never hammer nails or drill into the concrete floor, because there are pipes beneath it! Avoid making a lot of noise. Place a sound-damping layer underneath your flooring.

Curtain rails
Not all rooms come with curtain rails or curtains. You are free to use any curtain rails or curtains that are already present. Would you like to hang up different curtains? That is only permitted if the complex caretaker says you are allowed to drill into the window frame.

Lighting fixtures
The light fixtures can be hooked up to the connection terminals at the ends of the electrical wires and mounted to the central box. Drilling into the ceiling to mount light fixtures is not permitted.

The bathroom has lights above the wash basin and in the middle of the room. The kitchen has lights under the upper cabinets and in the extractor hood. Do not remove these. You are responsible for replacing bulbs when they no longer work.
