In Nijmegen, you can separate your waste. Make use of this in the interests of the environment.

Residual waste
For residual waste, you use special green or red rubbish bags. You buy these at your local supermarket. Residual waste should not be placed in other rubbish bags, because in that case they will not be collected. Put your rubbish bags on the street on the day they are collected by the Dar.

Underground waste container
If there is an underground bin on your premises, you can deposit any bag in it. In this case your housecold should have a waste card to open the bin. You pay each time you open te container.

Plastic

You can dispose of plastic waste in orange rubbish bags at the street on the day they are collected by the Dar. Orange rubbish bags are available for the disposal of plastic waste. You can buy these in most supermarkets in Nijmegen.

Waste calendar
Want to know when which waste is collected? Check the DAR website for the waste calendar for your street.

Bulky waste
Bulky waste is household waste that is too large or heavy to fit in a bin bag. Bulky waste includes broken furniture, beds, refrigerators, TVs and carpets. Do you have bulky waste you want collected? Make an online appointment with the DAR to do so.

Is your laminate flooring going in the junkyard?
Then make sure you bundle all the boards well, otherwise the Dar might not take it.
