In front of the building, near the new building (on Kwakkenbergweg), several underground and lockable containers have been placed to allow collection of separated waste. You can open these with your room key or waste card.

Residual waste
You can deposit residual waste in any bag in the waste container. You open the waste container with your waste card. You pay each time you deposit waste in the container. In February, you receive the statement from waste management.

Plastic waste
Dispose of plastic waste in the above-ground waste container for plastic (behind the fence). Plastic waste must be disposed of in a special orange bag. You can buy these bags at a Nijmegen supermarket.

Waste paper
Make the paper small so it can fit through the hole of the container. Don't put it next to the container because if the Dar can trace the offender, a fine will follow.

Organic waste
Want to separate Vegetable, Fruit and Garden Waste (VGF)? You can. Then request a green bucket from SSH&. This is free of charge. You can empty the bucket in the organice waste container that you open with your house key.

Always get rid of your bulky waste!
Near all waste containers, behind a fence, you can dispose of your bulky waste. Bulky waste is waste that does not fit in the bin, such as old sofas and fridges or electrical appliances. You open this area with your room key. This way, you can dispose of your bulky waste 24/7 and we prevent bulky waste from being placed in corridors, entrances or near the containers. Safety first!

The site itself indicates where you can put bulky waste and where you can put electrical appliances and metals. So make sure you separate your bulky waste properly?

Is your laminate flooring going in the junkyard?
Then make sure you bundle all the boards well. This makes it a lot easier for us to dispose of!

Waste calendar
The Dar's waste calendar tells you on which day what will be collected.

Do not place waste next to the containers
The municipality regularly checks for rubbish next to the containers. Can they trace the offender? Then a fine will follow. So do not place waste next to the container if it is full, but find another one.
