To maintain the technical condition of the flats, you are not allowed to make changes to the technical installation and structural layout of your flat.

Customise room
Want to customise your room to your own taste? You can, if you follow some rules: 

Painting / drilling / nailing
You may paint all walls and ceilings in any colour you want. Important here is to use good latex paint (so no smudge-proof). The wallpaper may be painted and removed without damaging the walls behind. It is not allowed to paint the skirting boards.

However, it is permitted to paint the window frames and doors on the inside. Please note: Upon departure, the walls, ceilings, window frames and doors must be delivered in an even, opaque white colour!

Hanging paintings/photos etc. on walls
There are many pipes in the walls and ceilings. It is allowed to drill into the walls, but not right above the sockets! Do not nail or drill into doors and window frames.

Curtain rails
There is a curtain rail in your room. However curtains are not provided by SSH&.

Flooring
There are no carpets in the apartment as standard. It is not possible to lay laminate flooring in the hall/kitchen because of the height of the front door. If you lay floor covering, remember that it must be removed again when you leave. No glue residue and/or stuck foam residue should be left on the floor. You may also transfer your floor to the next resident.

You should never nail or drill into the concrete floor because the floor contains (water) pipes! Avoid noise pollution: lay a sound-insulating underlay under your floor covering.
