Studying in another city or going abroad for a while? Then, of course, you don't want double expenses for housing.

Want to sublet your room? You may! However, there are a few rules:

  • You have lived in your room for at least three months.
  • You can request subletting privileges three weeks before the intended start date.
  • Your subtenant is a full-time student in Nijmegen or Arnhem and has a valid proof of study.
  • Your subtenant is registered with SSH&.
  • Does your property have coöptatierecht? (vote- in right) Your flatmates must sign a statement agreeing to the sublet and the subtenant.
  • Is your subtenant completing a work placement in Nijmegen or Arnhem? In addition to a student ID and proof of registration from the university or university of applied sciences, a work placement contract is also necessary.
  • The sublet must last for at least a month and for no longer than one year.
  • If you would like to sublet your room again three months after the previous sublet, please send an explanatory request to the Housing department/Wonen.
  • Are you an international PhD candidate who lives at Vossenveld or Proosdij? Do you want to sublet your room? If so, you can only sublet it to an international PhD candidate, because they are the target group for these specific rooms. (Are you an international PhD candidate who wants to rent a room that is available for sublet? If so, you are eligible for standard rooms as well as PhD rooms. In this case, you are also permitted to be over the age of 30.)
  • Are you an international Short Stay student? Subletting your room is not possible. Please contact our housing department for information.
