There is a washing machine connection in the bathroom. If you don't have a washing machine or are going away for a while, turn off the water tap to avoid water damage.
Not installing a washing machine? Then pour some vegetable oil down the drain: this prevents the water from evaporating. This will prevent a nasty sewer smell.
